Bald eagles are among the most powerful birds of prey. They use their impressive wingspan to fly at great heights and speeds and their keen eyesight to spot prey from up to two miles away.
They can even track fish underwater while they swim by perceiving ultraviolet beams reflected on their scales. Once they spot a suitable one, bald eagles perform a swift and agile dive. Once they are close enough, it usually takes them a few seconds to pick a fish and grab it out of the water using their sharp and strong claws.
Despite these majestic birds exemplifying both power and precision in their hunting techniques, they could get seriously injured if the slightest error occurs in a fraction of a second. For instance, if a fish is too heavy to lift, they could crash against the water and get seriously injured. For example, a sprain on a talon should heal completely before attempting to hunt normally again.
If you think of the shape of the wounded talon of a bald eagle, you might remember something evident that you learned in school. But bird rescuers might want to have an X-ray to diagnose and treat the injury properly. Memories or thoughts about injured bald eagles might be discomforting, just as memories of a vehicle crash you might have experienced. Some people might be so affected by an accident of this type that they prefer to avoid discomfort over healing properly, both physically and emotionally.
Feel free to share with us the story of a past accident you had and how you believe it is affecting your life and the lives of those around you. We might be able to recommend the right therapy to help you heal as much as possible so that "the load you carry gets lighter with patience and perseverance."
