Like the shape of a peacock...
When you think of this particular type of bird, an image of something vibrant and distinctive may appear in your mind. Vibrant because you may probably be thinking of a male peacock spreading its feathers. It is distinctive because when you think of a bird, you may also remember the sweet sound a bird made when you were a child.
My gut feeling is that you are not a zookeeper (hahaha), or maybe you don't watch a lot of nature documentaries. If, for instance, you mention a peacock, you may be referencing something related to your thoughts and emotions (yes, emotions. From the first time you saw a peacock).

Like the shape of a wounded bald eagle...
Bald eagles are among the most powerful birds of prey. They use their impressive wingspan to fly at great heights and speeds and their keen eyesight to spot prey from up to two miles away.
They can even track fish underwater while they swim by perceiving ultraviolet beams reflected on their scales. Once they spot a suitable one, bald eagles perform a swift and agile dive. Once they are close enough, it usually takes them a few seconds to pick a fish and grab it out of the water using their sharp and strong claws.
Despite these majestic birds exemplifying both power and precision in their hunting techniques, they could get seriously injured if the slightest error occurs in a fraction of a second. For instance, if a fish is too heavy to lift, they could crash against the water and get seriously injured. For example, a sprain on a talon should heal completely before attempting to hunt normally again.

Like the shape of a beaver...
Beavers are industrious aquatic architects who construct impressive dams using a combination of instincts and learned skills. They start by harvesting some of the building materials they need and then gnaw through tree trunks and branches with their sharp teeth.
The real magic happens as they construct the dam’s superstructure. They work together, pulling everything to the building site, driving branches and logs into the stream bed's mud to form a sturdy base, and carefully assembling the materials they brought, including rocks and dirt, to create a solid dam that holds back water.
Beavers are large rodents. They are vulnerable on land but nearly invincible in the water (they have excellent swimming skills and can hold their breath for up to 15 minutes). By damming a pond, beavers can hide from predators and get closer to their food sources, such as trees, water lilies, and cattails. Continue reading →
